Located in San Simeon, along the Central Coast of California, Point Piedras Blancas Lighthouse is just north of the town of Cambria and iconic Hearst Castle
Built in 1875, the current lighthouse continues to serve as an navigation aid. A beacon flashes every 10 seconds.
Today, the lighthouse is managed under the Piedras Blancas State Marine Reserve and Marine Conservation Area which provides protected marine areas offshore to conserve ocean wildlife and marine ecosystems, including a large population of elephant seals who make the nearby beaches their home.
